Going Global in 2018

NewGlobalGuyIt’s never too early or late to amplify your client base and referral partners by going global. Is your New Year’s resolution to go global this year? Here’s a short checklist to help you get started:

Earn your CIPS designation. By earning your Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation you will be equipped with the education, marketing tools and a network of over 3,800 CIPS designees in 48 countries to grow your global business. Visit nar.realtor/whycips and see why you should earn your CIPS.

Get involved with your Global Business Council. Global Business Councils are groups within the local board structure of NAR dedicated to globally themed education, programming, and networking for their members. Currently there are over 120 Global Councils across the U.S. Visit nar.realtor/findaglobalcouncil to search for one near you.

Seek out global events at the 2018 REALTORS® Conference & Expo. Each year over 20,000 REALTORS® and guests attend the REALTORS® Conference & Expo. In 2017, over 1,400 international guests representing 67 different countries joined us in Chicago. And there’s plenty of global-focused programming and networking opportunities planned each year to foster more global business for all. Join us for the 2018 REALTORS® Conference & Expo from November 2-5 in Boston, Massachusetts. Registration opens in May 2018. Visit nar.realtor/convention for updates.

Get advice. Find a mentor who is already working the global circuit. Most CIPS designees are happy to share their insight and experience with other REALTORS®. Find a CIPS designee in your area using the online CIPS Directory. Or, find their advice in The Little Purple Book: International Rules to Live By for REALTORS®. Take 10% off your order by using code INT17 when ordering in the REALTOR® Store.

Follow NAR Global on Facebook and Twitter. Stay informed about NAR’s latest global events, news and research by following us on Facebook and Twitter.

  4. Hello – just returned from the Keller Williams Family Reunion in Annaheim, CA. It was awesome, people from all around the world greeting each other with generosity and coming from contribution. While in Annaheim I met a potential buyer of real estate in the United States. He is from South Korea. Is there anyone out there who is familiar with the requirements for buyers from South Korea to purchase in the United States?
