Planning Your Trip to the REALTORS® Conference and Expo with a “Global Mindset”

16 NAR-2235-Static-Banners_250x300We have talked about the importance of having a global mindset time and time again. Part of shifting your mindset to global means actively planning for more international business. A large portion of this clientele is built by networking with the right people, from the right countries. There is no better way to network with REALTORS® from around the world than at the REALTORS® Conference & Expo, November 4-7 in Orlando. This is your chance to network with over 19,000 REALTORS® and guests, including over 1,300 from outside the United States from over 60 different countries.

There is also plenty of internationally-geared programming in store. Whether you are a seasoned global REALTOR® or just starting to expand your business across the globe the REALTORS® Conference & Expo has something for you. There are a few ways to make the most of this experience.

Before arriving to the event decide what areas of the world you would like to focus on. There will be plenty of opportunity to meet people from all over, but it is wise to have direction. If your area sees a lot of business from a particular country, focus on spending time with those representatives at the conference. Here is a day- by-day schedule of Global events to attend:

Conference events officially begin Thursday at the International REALTORS® Welcome Reception. This is a fun opportunity to start networking early on into your trip, and enjoy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails with representatives from partner associations all over the world.

Global Day kicks off on Friday morning – a full day of global-focused information packed sessions. Global Day will start with the Global Business & Alliances meeting, followed by sessions on global referrals, currency fluctuations, an economic update from NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun, and more.

Country networking hours are slated throughout the conference. Each country has a one-hour time slot where representatives will be on hand to meet other attendees and exchange potential referral business. Another key time to meet with a particular country is at the Meet the World speed networking session, taking place Friday from 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM on the trade show floor. This is where you can interact with the world’s most influential real estate associations from over 60 different countries – all in one place!

In addition to relevant education sessions throughout the day, be sure to add International Night Out to your itinerary for Saturday night. This is your time to relax and enjoy cocktails and a formal dinner, followed by live music and dancing. This is a ticketed event, so you will need to purchase this with your registration to gain entry.

There is much more in store that will make your trip well worth while. Click here for a full schedule of events, which can be sorted by topic (select International). Registration is easy, click here and register today!
