International Flair at REALTORS® Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo

For those who joined us last week in Washington, D.C., for the REALTORS® Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo, I think you will agree that by all accounts, this year’s event was among our most successful.

GBA CommitteeBy nature of the business conducted at the May meetings, our audience is typically domestic with just a handful of international delegates. However, as NAR Global continues to work toward its mission “to render the global real estate markets accessible, profitable and ethical for REALTORS® to conduct business,” our international partners are increasingly interested in NAR’s role in advancing the real estate industry through public policy and government affairs. To that end, we hosted over 170 international members, an exponential increase over previous years. The international delegation included 60 members from Canada, 25 from Vietnam, and representatives from Australia, Brazil, Colombia, Greece, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Philippines, Romania, Spain, Taiwan, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

Perhaps Shonee Henry, NAR Regional Coordinator (Asia-Pacific) put it best during the Global Business & Alliances Committee meeting when she said, “The REALTOR® brand is no longer an American brand. It is a global brand.”

  1. I think this is important sort of a checks and balances for the real estate market and will keep everyone informed and on the same page. A Code Ethics is real important for the industry to keep every one honest. Even better I would say is to get everyone to follow these guidelines.
