One of NAR’s Strategic Partners is the International Real Property Foundation– simply known as the IRPF. This independent, nonprofit, and public purpose 501c(3) Foundation has a long history of helping to create real property markets needed for strong democracies and vibrant economies. Laboring under the belief that a robust private property market promotes social stability, strengthens democratic institutions and promotes economic growth, the fruits of this organization’s tireless labor can be seen in places all around the world. From Bosnia to Uganda, and Brazil to India, since 1992 the IRPF has worked to develop real estate markets in more than 30 countries. A telling outcome of the IRPF’s work is the existence of over 85 real estate associations offering services to members and representing approximately 200,000 professionals.
Today, the IRPF has turned its attention to Serbia. The organization is looking to strengthen the real estate market in Serbia by building trust among Serbian agents, sellers, buyers and the community. Working cooperatively with the Central European Real Estate Associations Network (CEREAN), the goal is to offer education and tools to young real estate professionals in Serbia to become more efficient real estate agents. The IRPF is looking for NAR members who are interested in volunteering to help with this endeavor.
Program activities include the validation/adaptation of the NAR Code of Ethics, offering of a training course on Code of Ethics, agency and exclusive representation, and development of a mentoring program in which Diaspora in the U.S. can communicate with peers in their home countries to answer questions about real estate issues and exchange tips and lessons learned. By volunteering you could join the group of IRPF supporters and in the future may serve as an IRPF speaker and trainer. How valuable can it be to help shape the strengthening of the real estate market in Serbia? You could be one of the forces behind it!
IRPF and CEREAN plan to start the implementation of the program with the translation and validation of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR)’s Code of Ethics to be followed by the implementation of a training session in Serbia by March 30, 2015. The IRPF invites you to be an actor in this program that can help develop the real estate market in Serbia as well as creating lasting relationships with your Serbian counterparts.
