Plan Your Conference Agenda Around International Business Goals

300x250_2014The baseball great (and always entertaining) Yogi Berra once said, ““If you don’t know where you are going, you’ll end up someplace else.”

It’s not the most intellectually stimulating quote out there but, well, I have baseball fever with the MLB division series games going on, and it’s timely with the REALTORS® Conference & Expo on the horizon. After all, if you don’t know where you are going at the conference, your business plan might end up “somewhere else!”

If your end goal is global business, we have a full slate of international education and networking opportunities planned for the New Orleans conference. Whether you have focused on this niche for a while or are just getting started in international, the REALTORS® Conference & Expo has something for you.

Before you arrive, think about which countries you want to focus on (based on which countries you know are buying in your area, or perhaps your own strong cultural affinity or knowledge). Plan your conference agenda around networking with delegates from those countries – we have specific networking times with each country represented at the conference, and a few countries will be delivering conference education sessions or information sessions in the Global Theater.

Your first opportunity to meet attendees from around the world will be at Thursday night’s International REALTORS® Networking reception. On Friday morning, Global Day is the place to be, where there will be networking opportunities first thing in the morning, followed by several concurrent sessions all related to global business. Featured sessions include the Global Business & Alliances Committee meeting, a global technology session, and the Commercial Economic Issues & Trends Forum with NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun, and more.

Country Networking Hours will take place in the International Networking Center on the expo floor throughout the conference. Each country has a one-hour time slot where representatives will be on hand to meet other attendees and exchange potential referral business.

Finally, International Night Out is the can’t-miss opportunity to kick your heels up and have some fun with your fellow international real estate agents. This year’s masquerade ball-themed event will be our biggest yet, as we recognize our largest class of CIPS designees to date and other shining stars in the global real estate community. This is a ticketed event, so you will need to purchase this with your registration to gain entry.
